In the 1950's, a statistical review published an article that suggested the game had better odds than previously thought. The journal disproved the popular belief that the dealer had much better odds because they went first. The article stimulated a renaissance of blackjack that has brought it into its current glory. Advance tactics such as card counting were consequently born.
